Community Involvement Unit

The Canton Police Community Involvement Unit (CIU) is part of the Support Services Division. As a police department, we have always valued our connection with the community. This unit of dedicated officers performs a variety of duties that designed to improve the quality of life for those we serve. Created as a problem-solving team, some of their primary goals are to improve public trust, support the patrol shift, and address long-term problems that increase the risk of crime.

Throughout the year, you will see them planning and hosting many events, such as We Believe in Canton, Cookies with Cops, and Coffee with a Cop. In addition to those events, officers are working behind the scenes to peacefully address neighborhood disputes, assist with neighborhood clean ups, provide resources to residents for mental health services, and attend neighborhood meetings and events.

Community members who would like us to attend a neighborhood meeting or event should call 330-438-4516. We will do our best to accommodate your request and assist you in any way we can.
