Fair Housing
The City of Canton Fair Housing Office (CCFHO) operates as a Fair Housing Assistance Program (FHAP), funded and administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The City of Canton Fair Housing Commission enforces Chapter 515 of the City of Canton Fair Housing Code which has been certified by HUD and determined to be substantially equivalent to the federal Fair Housing Act (FHA). Fair housing is not an option, it's the law!
Role
The role of the CCFHO is to increase public awareness of the FHA and its protections, conduct impartial investigations of alleged housing discrimination, and enforce the City of Canton Fair Housing Code for the benefit of all Canton residents.
Equal Housing Opportunity
All City of Canton housing programs are open to everyone without regard to race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin.
Discrimination Complaint
If you feel that you have been unlawfully discriminated against because of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, familial status, disability, ancestry, military status, or sexual orientation and gender identity please contact the Office of Fair Housing.
