Equal Employment (EEO)

Employment Discrimination at Work Hurts Everyone

Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) is critical to maintaining a city where residents want to live, work, and raise a family.

The laws of the City of Canton protect individuals from discrimination at work based upon a person's age, ancestry, color, disability, gender, national origin, race, religion, and/or sexual orientation.

If you or someone you know feels that they have been discriminated against, report it! For questions or concerns related to non-City of Canton employment, contact Rachel Forchione at 330-489-3360.  If you are a City of Canton employee, please contact Andrea Perry at 330-438-4307- remember - Equal Employment Opportunity is the Law!

Bidder/Contractor Equal Employment Certification

In order to receive EEO certification, companies must provide information verifying their compliance with Canton City Codified Ordinance 507.03. To maintain contract bid eligibility, companies are strongly encouraged to remain in compliance with the city's EEO program throughout the term of the contract.

The Compliance Department reviews all Bidder/Contractor Employment Practices Reports, and may refuse a report if it incomplete or is submitted without authorized signatures.

For a complete listing of requirements for bidder/contractor EEO certification, please contact the Purchasing Department at 330-489-3245 or purchasing@cantonohio.gov..
