The Property and Evidence Section is responsible for receiving, recording, and safeguarding of all property that is confiscated by Canton Police personnel to include property held in evidence. The Property and Evidence Section is also responsible for the following:
- Ensuring that all evidence is presented in court and returned to custody
- Receiving, maintaining, and distributing departmental supplies and materials
- Ensuring all property and evidence is properly disposed of according to law and department procedure, including the return of any property to the lawful owner
