The responsibilities of the Vice Intelligence Unit include narcotics investigations, organized crime investigations, liquor violations and intelligence gathering and dissemination in collaboration with numerous State and Federal agencies.
Duties & Responsibilities
In past years, the Vice Intelligence Unit:
Executed and assisted in the investigations, arrests and prosecutions of high-profile and interstate drug offenders and violent offenders
Performed street-level drug interdiction; provided undercover security at public and political events
Responded to community complaints involving:
Drug sales
Gambling offenses
Liquor violations
Prostitution
Vice Intelligence Unit investigations often involved the deployment of the department's SWAT Team, and the unit also works with other law enforcement agencies on a regular basis.
