Architectural Review Board
The Board reviews applications for Certificates of Appropriateness and takes final action relating to the construction, erection, alteration, removal, moving, or demolition of any building or structure in the downtown area.

Board of Building Appeals
The Board of Building Appeals hears appeals, makes recommendations, and encourages the standards of fair business.

Canton Community Improvement Corporation (CCIC)
The sole purpose of the CCIC is to advance, encourage, and promote the industrial, economic, commercial, and civic development of the community.

Civil Service Commission
The Commission prescribes, amends, and enforces rules for the classification of positions in the civil service of the city, city schools, and city health district.

Community Reinvestment Area Housing Council (CRA)
The Council makes annual inspections of the properties within a community reinvestment area that are receiving a tax exemption.

Community Relations Commission
The purpose of the Commission is to advise the Mayor concerning the provision of services by City employees for the purposes of enhancing community confidence, improving the operation of government and promoting public understanding of the system of Canton City government.

Construction Board
The Construction Board considers appeals of decisions of the Chief Building Official and assists in the interpretation of the rules and regulations of the applicable provisions of the City Building Code.

Fair Housing Commission
The Fair Housing Commission receives and investigates charges of housing discrimination. If the Commission determines a respondent has engaged in, or is engaging in any unlawful discriminatory housing practice, the Commission shall issue an order requiring the respondent to cease and desist from such unlawful practice.

Health Board
The Board has the power to appoint a Health Commissioner as well as any public health nurses, clerks, physicians and other persons as it deems necessary and provided by law.
